Old Shoes, New Shoes
My word for the year is GRATITUDE. So I decided to show my hard working dh that I really am grateful for how well he provides for our family...by purchasing some new shoes. Yes, I've needed new shoes for awhile. Those old ones on the left I've had for about 3 years. They're comfortable, and I really don't enjoy shoe shopping at all.
However, this past week the toe finally burst on the left shoe. I even wore them to church like this. But my dh does not feel my gratitude for his provision when I'm wearing the only pair of shoes I have and there is a giant hole in the toe.
Actually, I do own a pair of sandals I got a resale shop awhile back (but I don't like the way they fit, so I haven't worn them in over a year) and I also own a pair of plain black dress shoes back from when I worked and our oldest was baby (but I probably haven't worn those in at least 2 years).
Hopefully I'll get my $14.99's worth over the next three years.

Thanks for visiting my blog!! I can relate to this post -- I definitely didn't get the girl gene for buying shoes... I have a handful of shoes, almost all of which I have had since high school! There is just so many other things that money would be better spent on... but I guess if digits are sticking out the top, I would agree it is time to treat yourself! :-)
BTW, I am a contributor for Heart of the matter which means I write twice a month and they are posted on various days.. my first intro article comes out this Saturday.
I enjoyed your blog and your Stonewall Academy site, I'll be checking back in!!
Have a wonderful day!
Lee, I can relate! I am not a shoe shopper either. I have a pair of slip-ons and the side is ripped (can notices it), but I still wear them and love them! I just avoid puddles. :o) LOL
Have a wonderful Thursday!

LOL... I would say apples don’t fall far from trees... but none of us are related... *Ü*
Is this shoe confessional time? My shoes sole split across the bottom... I did go buy a new pair... but they didnt fit right.... so I took them back...
We went to Seattle on Thursday and my husband was shocked to see old faithful on my feet, walking in the rain!
Let’s just say I couldn’t avoid puddles... and my feet did get wet...
Guess what I wore yesterday? Today? *Ü*
I think I may treat myself to a little girl shopping (retail therapy) this Saturday... In honor of you Lee! lol *Ü*

OK, I don't buy shoes like crazy either! I find a pair I love and I absolutely wear them into the ground until usually DH won't let me wear them any more.
What is it with all of us?!

Hi Lee! (This has nothing to do with your post, but I couldn't find an email address for you.) I noticed on the WTM boards that you mentioned an interest in K12. Have you had access to a demo account yet? If not, I can hook you up with one if you like. (It would allow you to see all of the online content for all the grades and courses offered.) There is a link to my email address on my Profile page. Just let me know!
Oh Lee,
This post made me giggle. Sometimes I feel like a little girl playing dress up when it comes to shoes. I'm recently back in the "work force" and did invest in some. A girl's gotta have professional feet, I suppose.
I have to admit, I feel much spunkier with cute feet.
I took at picture for you (and the other KSs) yesterday... check your email in a little bit!
So glad you're blogging again.
Lee,
I am so glad you got some new shoes! :) You deserve them for sure. I admit that I love shoes although I am too cheap to buy them anywhere but Target typically - except my running shoes. I'll spend anything for a *great* pair of running shoes!
Blessings!
Jen
Hi Lee
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I did not use the placement tests for CLE. Went with grade level. There was alot of stuff we had not gone over in R&S but we managed using the first light unit as a teaching unit. Feel free to email me.
I don't buy shoes often, but when I do, I drop some cash and I think it's worth it. I have a pair of Clark's that are almost 8 years old and they are still holding strong. I think the price evens out over time, if you can afford the upfront investment. :) I also have a pair of Land's End All Weather Mocs that are cheap and long lasting.
Loved the picture of the shoes :)
This is great - I am trying to be more grateful this year! I hate to shoe shop as well! I wear my shoes into the ground.
I appreciated you stopping by my new blog and leaving great comments!
Thanks for all YOUR great posts- I have been a reader all year on WTM and a lurker at your site - thanks for inspiring!
